I hope you’re all having a nice weekend! I am ready to relax and enjoy the sunshine!
Sorry I have not been able to blog for a while as I’ve been struggling with a bad migraine but while I was resting it gave me an idea for a post.
You see I was getting very frustrated with myself while I was just lying there: why don’t I feel better yet, why do I get migraines like this etc. Now I’m normally quite a positive person and would normally turn that around in my mind but when you are feeling as poorly as I did things like that go out of the window because I just didn’t have the energy! I could barely move! I didn’t even want to brush my hair or wash my face, let alone change the way I was thinking, which as we all know can be an uphill battle.
Since feeling better though it has reminded me once again just how important our thoughts are. How we think, determines how we feel and act. We choose the way we want to see the world, if we think it is negative then it will be negative but if we think positive then it will be positive. We get caught up with all our emotions and thoughts and we cling onto them rather than just let them be.
So next time try and rather than keep analysing the fact that you’re sad, tired, fed up or not well. Just accept it, take a moment to think and the feelings will go on their own.
The mind is a powerful thing but it cannot think more than one thought at time so why do we expect our bodies to do more than one thing at time. We run around multitasking and yes sometimes it might be necessary but in order to get the best out of our experiences we should try to concentrate on one thing at a time and I guarantee that it will feel more enjoyable and less overwhelming.
Two purchases to assist you with your mindfulness journey:
1) The Things You Can See Only When You Slow Down by Haemin Sunim.
This is a brilliant book which is easy and enjoyable to read. It explains in more detail about mindfulness. The book has eight chapters looking at different parts of life, from friendships, love to work etc. Each chapter is followed by a series of short messages or prompts for meditation. There are also lovely bright colourful images throughout.
2) Crystals ( Black Obsidian and Rose Quartz).
So this is a something new that I am trying, crystals but if it is good enough for Victoria Beckham then it is good enough for me. Victoria is known to be quite a spiritual person and often carries crystals in her handbag especially ahead of important fashion shows that are stressful times for her.
Black Obsidian is meant to block negativity and help you to remain positive and grounded. Rose Quartz is meant to promote positive energy and love in your life.
I will let you know how I get on with them. Please let me know if you try any of the above and how you get on with them or if you already use crystals.
As always feel free to comment below about anything in this post or any ideas for future posts you would like me to cover.
